Fixed Solar Saver is designed for organisations that want to lower energy costs without investing in their own solar installation. Your business could be a good fit if you:

Have at least 100m2 of suitable roof space
Land or space inside or outside, to place a battery
Have a consumption greater than 50,000 kWh consumption per year
Want greater certainty over future energy costs

Everything you need to know about Fixed Solar Saver

Your questions answered

Fixed Solar Saver is a simple, solar backed, energy tariff. We've put together the questions we get asked most often to help you find the information you need to make informed decisions.

A Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) is a simple way for your business to reduce its electricity costs without paying for a commercial solar system upfront. Instead of buying the solar panels yourself, HDM Energy funds, installs and looks after the system. You only pay for the electricity you use in your building. Find out more here.

Your Fixed Solar Saver tariff will be fixed according to your agreement, typically for 2-3 years. Most Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) for the solar element of the plan will run between 10 and 20 years, depending on your requirements. We'll help you choose the option that delivers the right balance between monthly savings and long-term cost certainty.

At the end of your Power Purchase Agreement, you will have the option to purchase the system for just £1, or you can start a new agreement with us.

Your business will continue to receive electricity from the grid whenever solar generation is lower than your energy demand. With Fixed Solar Saver, you pay the same rate for your electricity regardless of whether it comes from your solar system or the grid. Battery storage also helps maximise your use of solar energy by storing excess power generated during daylight hours for use later in the day.

No. The great news is that you will get one bill from British Gas combining what you use from the solar system and the grid.

Of course. Depending on your existing installation, we can talk through and assess what your options are. If your energy contract is not due to end yet, we may still be able to install a solar system and move you to the Fixed Solar Saver tariff in the future.
